Clinician Language Instruction & Certification (CLIC) Course

For professionals who want to teach and/or assess medical Spanish skills

A professional development opportunity to gain skills in teaching and/or rating medical Spanish using a validated rubric

  • Course duration: 30 hours over 6 weeks

  • Modality: Fully online and mostly asynchronous; 10+ live virtual sessions offer the opportunity to collaborate with peers and course instructors to enhance learning.

  • Costs:

    • $3,500 for Educator Track (required for all CLIC Course participants)

    • +$1,500 for the optional add-on Rater Track (for those who wish to gain and calibrate skills as a POLOM rater).

  • Course availability: The Spring 2026 CLIC Course will take place from May 4 – June 14, 2026. The add-on Rater Track begins on June 15th and is fully asynchronous. For full course calendar, click on the link below.

Exam Prep Course

For individuals who are interested in or preparing to take the Multilingual Clinician Spanish Certification Exam

This course will help you better understand the expectations for the Multilingual Clinician Spanish Certification Exam and effectively demonstrate your language skills as applied to the clinical context of the exam. The course is taught in Spanish and is not intended to be a medical Spanish course. You will learn practical tips, do’s and don’ts, and familiarize yourself with how your skills will be evaluated on each POLOM domain.

  • Course duration: 6-8 hours over 4 weeks

  • Modality: Fully online, asynchronous, and self-paced

  • Costs: Included with exam registration at no additional cost

  • Not ready to register for the exam just yet? No problem! You can sign up for the Prep Course only for $95 (introductory rate for a limited time), and apply what you learn when you’re ready to test.

  • Course availability: Starting January 2026
