Medical Spanish Core

Summary: Medical Spanish Core is designed for clinicians with intermediate or higher general Spanish skills. The course is organized into 10 organ system-based modules and aims for clinicians to take a full medical history and physical exam in a patient-centered, culturally responsive manner, explain the medical assessment and plan prioritizing the patient’s preferences and values, and request and provide clarification to ensure mutual understanding.

Time commitment: 40-hour learning experience to support meaningful skill development

Mode of instruction: Fully online, asynchronous, and self-paced 

Faculty support: Optional virtual monthly drop-in clinic hours led by CCM faculty

Course language: Spanish

Performance objective: After completing this course, participants will be ready to independently conduct complete patient-centered clinical encounters in Spanish in routine and predictable situations.

  10. Lymphatic system and oncologic issues
